2018 IBHOF Class
Modern: Buddy McGirt, Donald Curry, Julian Jackson
Old Timer: Tony DeMarco Cardwise, the three moderns are readily available in Browns and other 1990s sets. I'll have to decide which of them to use for my HOF set. DeMarco has a nice Exhibit card. I happen to have picked up a signed one this year: http://photos.imageevent.com/exhibit...y%20signed.jpg There was some speculation among the boxing press (who vote for it) that DeMarco might win over other more qualified candidates because he is one of the few qualified, un-inducted fighters from the era who is still alive. Show 'em if you got 'em. |
Also elected was Teddy Atlas. In terms of cards, I think the rookies are:
Atlas: 2002 Browns Curry: 1985 Browns McGirt: 1985 Browns Jackson: 1991 Ringlords, Kayo |

Curry was on one of those "Fight Beat" magazine card panels in 1984. Not sure of the month off the top of my head.

Has to be issue #6 (October).

Man, I wish I kept better checklists. I thought we check listed them out with dates on this site in some thread, but maybe that was my imagination because I can't find it.
That one I sold some year and half ago or so, and don't have another. |
Very awesome Demarco. I assumed that Atlas was already in. First heavyweight fight I paid attention to in a long time. I like how they called it a "draw". I'm jonesing for the re-match. I have a T218 tolstoi track guy that is lost in the mail on the way and I'm torn-up about it. Let y'all know if I ever get it.

Dave: I did checklist the cards for the 2016 edition of my book but we didn't know the month or issue # of the four you show. I think it is issue #6 October because the first 5 issues definitely had cards and the 1985 issues stopped. We will know for sure in a few days because I took a gamble on a #6 and should have it shortly.

Got to interview Tony DeMarco once, several years ago. A very nice man and well-deserving of induction!
