Question about Ruth ball and Frank P Garo
Hey guys! Long time viewer of the boards.
#1 on my bucket list is to own a Babe Ruth ball. A buddy of mine sent me this today. On the surface, it looks highly suspect and not nearly expensive enough. However, the COA is from a Frank P Garo whose website checks back somewhat reputable. Can you guys look at it and debunk it for me real quick? As bad as I want to own a Ruth signature, I also don’t want to throw away 2,500 bucks due to being naive. https://www.ebay.com/itm/BABE-RUTH-S...QAAOSw1w1bp7~2 Thanks again! Roger |
Sorry...
NOT authentic IMHO, and the Garo Certification does not help. Best to stay away. FWIW, this particular seller has other items that appear authentic... including the Jackie and the Mantle. It's just the Ruth that is highly suspect (ok.... Bad). |

Can you clarify?

Frank Garo is an idiot. He cert's forgeries. This is pretty easy to see so that is what he is eluding to.

Well
He does only say "this is an authentic item" I guess it is real..it's not imaginary...it exists in this plane of existance |
Chris is likely suggesting that the picture reveals it's an obvious forgery, and that the LOA is worthless. Anytime you see an LOA written by a "Forensic Specialist", just move on.
Sellers tend to price these items just low enough to make them enticing, yet high enough cause some serious hurt to your wallet. Be careful! |

100% fake, and a poor forgery at that!
