What do you guys think? Authentic?
52 mantle
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1952-Topps-...u&LH_Auction=1 Interesting, didn't even know a grading company could return a card with "unknown." Looked up the psa number in the database, but couldn't find a match. Usually I assume 99.9% of ungraded 52 mantles on ebay are fake but im curious about this one. Any experience with this seller "pre1971cards" ? |
Questionable Authenticity is PSA's declaration that the card is fake.

I was reading some old posts on here and saw that, didn't know. Thanks, they def need a better designation
|
WTF is a "type II"card?
|
Bad fake. You can tell the back and front are pasted into white card stock. At the wear spots on corners you can see the underlying white poking out. Not even a good fake.
|
Not even close. The dead giveaway (besides the ? Auth sticker) is the white corners. The artificial wear has exposed a white card stock which is definitely not authentic.
Edit: Rhett beat me to it. |
thanks for the information, wasn't going to bid, but it always fascinates me to see these types of ungraded cards. Isn't there something ebay or someone could do? He lists it as an original and graded by psa

The auction is currently at $343 with two hours to go. A 52T Mantle sitting a $343 should be a pretty good indicator of authenticity.

52 Mick
good

Not good, white corners showing and Yankee logo on front is practically a smear with regard to the word Yankees... Also who would sell a 52 Mantle with out of focus pictures...
