N269 Poole: wow.
Didja see that one that sold in Scott’s auction? $1397 with vig. Pretty impressive. I haven’t seen one sold in a while. The N269 Woodson also was a surprise.
Someone got a nice deal on the Godfrey N174. |
Is that completely due to the Gangs of New York?
|
I think so. I don't know that anyone would go nuts over a non-HOFer with a scant record except that the back story of Poole got such a boost from Scorsese's decision to make Bill the Butcher Poole the lead antagonist in the film as against a fictional protagonist rather than his real life nemesis John Morrissey or his actual killer. Most of the HOFers from the same set do not get as pricey as Poole does.

Dang. I missed it. Been looking for a Poole, but doubt I would have gone that deep, but who knows now. Maybe...lol. Can you share a link to the auction showing the sold item?
|
Dang. Found it. I bid in that auction and somehow missed seeing that one. Oh well the search continues.

Cant believe we missed it
First time in how long one has come up for sale? |
