Bird RC detached
What would PSA grade a bird rookie card if it was split into its 3 pieces? Would it get a numerical grade?

Psa won't grade this set with the panels separated.

But they’d still slab it as Authentic?

All sorts of examples of this with PSA. I am constantly working on a Master set of 1962 Topps CFL football.
These cards came in 2 card panels, as follows: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1962-Topps-...kAAOSwIgNXtAOH There are all sorts of different 2 card combinations, and I have been working on getting every combination for several years. These same cards are graded as individual cards too: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1962-TOPPS-...cAAOSwBP9bhjFK What can you say about their consistency that hasn't been said before? |
So has anyone seen an example of a single 1980 Topps Basketball panel as slabbed as Authentic by PSA?

This seems contradictory as PSA's purpose is to authenticate collectables as they were originally intended. The 1981 Topps, both in soccer and basketball, we're issued with perforations so cards could be separated.
Once again, psa is wrong to dictate what the manufacturer should or should not have done. This is paramount to not slabbing Post, Hello, Hostess or Bazooka because they are cut from the box. |
Agreed. As a 15 year old kid, the first thing I did was separate the cards. I was disgusted with the set (and still am). To think that 2 of the 3 greatest players in a generation have these ghastly rookie cards, and the 3rd has a card that came out well after his rookie season is awful.
