I was looking through some VCP prices the other day, as I was breaking up this set, and came across Hal W. Smith. I have no idea why, but he has sold in PSA 7, four times this year, for these prices:

What?!? How can that possibly be? One of our board members said he thinks Hal is hard to find centered, so maybe that's it. I think people are just insane, but that's me. Or they think Hal is a dark horse HOFer. He did hit the dramatic homer, before Maz hit the even more dramatic homer. Sort of the penultimate, dramatic homer. Anyway, I am offering Hal up to you guys who like centered cards of obscure catchers. I am hoping that maybe, maybe, Hal is worth a 6-pack of my favorite...Odell's 5 Barrel Ale, which goes for $9.99. VCP says he's worth a 12-pack, AND a bottle of Rowan's Creek Bourbon. He may only be worth a 40 of Colt 45. We shall see what kind of beer Hal brings me.

I was going thru my lot of 61's a couple months back and found one as well. I too, was surprised to see the prices. Sent mine in to PSA and hoping to have the grades back this week. Thinking a 7 but hoping for an 8!

Hal showed up in my mail today. He was drunk. Glad you shared your beer with him! Other than the tiny crease on the bottom right corner, this is an amazing looking card. Most likely had a shot at 8-8.5 if not for that. Squeezed it in under the wire anyhow and added it to my bulk submission heading to PSA today. Thanks again!

Sorry, but I didn't notice the crease...maybe I didn't have my cheaters on! Anyway, if you are in anyway unhappy with it, I will be glad to refund you the cost. I meant to put the refund option in the description, but forgot. Hope Hal likes his new home!

Nope, not at all. The card has great eye appeal. Guessing it comes back a 6 but it will be a beautiful 6. And because I'm about 5 years overdue for an eye exam/glasses, it looks like a 9 to me!!!

As I mentioned in a previous response, I found a Hal W. Smith as well. Just had grades pop today. Since this one came back a grade higher than I though, maybe the one I got from you will as well!!

I think it should. It was a solid deal either way. Here's the one I just got back today. Went on Ebay fast as I could get it there, lol.
