Hey, fellow Hughes, we've talked a little over the years, so let me chime in a bit. Finding traders on this site is very hard to do, so it's not just you. It's just the way it is. But, you should probably start wording the titles of your threads a little better. When you post "1959 Topps near set missing 3," it seems to everyone who reads it that you are SELLING a near set of cards, not looking for traders/sellers to help you complete it. It's not immediately evident what you are looking to do, know what I mean? Perhaps renaming this one to something like "Help! Need 3 cards to complete my 1959 set" might lead to better results?

Probably nobody has what you need. Plus trading isn't as easy as it used to be. Now it seems everyone wants to be able to say they made out better on the trade or want WAY more than their stuff is worth. Good luck on finishing your set.:)

I have been working on a 55 Bowman set that I am only buying/trading with fellow members to complete. It has been about a 3 year process and am down to around 5 cards and haven't added one in many months.

Hell maybe nobody wants to sell/trade with me either.:D

Thanks for the input. I change the title just about every time I bump the thread just to give it a little different look. I didn't think anyone would think it was a set that's FS since FS wasn't anywhere in the title. But that's my mistake for assuming that.


I find it hard to believe that on a board that's geared towards vintage that nobody has them. I have had some people PM me about cards for my '62 Topps set. But they've wanted nearly half of BV. So I've passed. Maybe that's my problem...I'm not willing to pay half or higher of BV. Although when I tried to sell, I was asking roughly 15% or less of BV and got no takers. This site can be so fickle at times. But it's the only site geared toward vintage. BO is for newer stuff, nothing happens on SCF or Beckett and I'm not willing to trust Facebook traders. Too many horror stories over there.

Here you go, if it meets your grade criteria, PM your address and I'll stick it in the mail. Has nice color and fairly square corners, there are some light spider wrinkles on the right and bottom.
