What kind of bat is this?
 

I have seen one other bat that says "Hackberry", which I also picked up years ago.

Are these rare? Anyone know what year it is from?

I think this is a store model, because the knob just says 35. It doesn't appear to have any player endorsement. I sort of won it on ebay by accident (placed a bid; forgot about it; phone goes off 5 days later saying I won).
I had to look up Hackberry, because I have never heard of it.

Any information would be great.

Does anyone know how rare these are?
I have not seen very many ever, like two.

I am guessing this is because they were not awesome, and hickory and ash were much better suited for bats.

After the early years they were mostly kid bats as they were very light

That is what I originally thought; but this one I just got is a 35".
