1959 Lucky Penny Insert
How come the 1959 Lucky Penny insert keeps getting listed as a 1957 Lucky Penny card? I would think the 1959 issue would be much rarer?

I may be missing something. For 1959 I have the paper stock Elect Your Favorite Rookie and Felt Pennant inserts. For 1957 I have the 8 Checklists ( Blony and Bazooka variants), the 4 Contest cards and the Lucky Penny insert card.

There's a cardboard Lucky Penny insert and one that is thin paper. I have to think the latter was inserted in penny packs. These could have been issued over a couple of years and through various sports and non-sports packs.

Note 1959 date. I keep this with my 1959 Topps set. Seller had it under 1957 Lucky Penny, but it is a 1959!

My original question.. is the 1959 insert rarer then the 1957 Lucky Penny card???
|
If eBay listings are a gauge I would say yes, by far. Is your LP with the 59 date cardboard or paper stock ?
As far as I know no 59 LP insert is listed in SCD or The Registry. |
The 1959 Lucky Penny insert is on the same glossy paper stock that the All Star Rookie Team is on. It even has the same slit on the side. I got this cheaply because it was misfiled under 1957 and in poor condition due to the slit which would be common for the issue. I have not seen another since I found this one.

I have one cardboard and one paper. Both are 1959.
UPDATE: Only my paper one is a 59-sorry for any confusion. |
Could you please post scans of the cardboard 1959??? Thanks...
