PSA 1 Gretzky RC - Should I break from the slab?
Hi,
I picked up this PSA 1 Gretzky from Martin Sports Cards a few months ago. It's not in great shape, but for a PSA 1 it's not bad compared to other cards that might have stains, pinholes, writing, etc. It has bad corners and creases, but not terrible creases and no other major flaws. Is it worth breaking out of the case? It's not like the grade could get worse. I don't have a strong preference for graded cards, but the main reason I keep it in the case is the amount of counterfeit Gretzky rookies out there, and since it's in a PSA slab that makes it clear it is legit. What do you guys think, would you keep in the case or break it out? https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/818/41...e8fc6663_b.jpg |
Keep it in the slab. Proves its real...pretty much.

I recently broke out a PSA 3 from the slab cuz I just hate slabs. And it has no creases so it has really nice eye appeal.
I keep the flip on the side in case anybody cares but I'm not going to sell this anyway most likely. I got it cheap so i dont think id lose anything even if I sold it raw Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk |
What are your plans for the card? Is it part of any sort of set?
|
Good question. I'm working on the 79 OPC set, so it's definitely part of the set. However, the rest of the cards are ungraded and their condition is probably in the EXMT to NMT range.
