Sound movie of George Gibson and Pirates spring training, 1934
 

Most people on this board will be familiar with George Gibson, the Pirates catcher who appears in T206 and many other T and E card sets. Here is a sound film of the Pittsburgh Pirates doing drills in spring training in 1934, with Gibson, the team's manager that year, giving them a pep talk and addressing the team briefly at about 1:30. An interesting little snapshot of history with a connection to some of the sets many of us collect.

Oh that's cool for sure.

Gibson almost sounds like an auctioneer the way he's calling out guys names, and "coaching them" (if that's what you'd call it) through that pitching drill.
