Ted Williams Vintage PC Signature Questions
2 Attachment(s)
Hi-
I recently acquired the Ted Williams postcard scanned below that I have some questions about. The price I paid was more in line for just the postcard (albeit without writing on the front), so his real signature would be a nice bonus. However, is this Ted's real signature? I have heard about the open d with forgeries in the 1980s. However, this one appears to be from the late 50s. Is this a secretarial or clubhouse signature? Or, is it Ted's, just a little unusual? Or, is it Ted's and normal (and I am just clueless when it comes to his signatures)? Lastly, is it just a plain fake? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I really appreciate the knowledge of the frequent posters on this forum. I can provide better scans if needed. Alan |
Its hard to gage if it is stamped or signed, but it appears to be a common clubhouse signature from his playing days,...I don't believe it to be an authentic Williams signature

Thank you both! That confirms it as fake for me. I will probably write fake auto or something on the back if I ever sell it. For now, it will go in my Ted W binder.
