Gloria Rothstein -- An Unusal Request
One of my old collecting friends posted on my FB page that he would love to hear the radio jingle which was used for the Gloria Rothstein sports card shows. Can anyone assist with this?
Thanks! Rich |
I’d love to hear it again after all these years please let me know if you find it.
|
really hope someone can make this happen
|
Did Gloria sing her own jingle? Just felt like I had to ask......
|
I thought Richard Patrick Blandford was the lead singer :D
|
I remember it being a jingle...by some nameless commercial jingle group I suppose.
|
Jimi Hendrix did a sick guitar version of it at Woodstock. :)

I don’t recall any music being played there. I was going to those shows when they were still in Giants Stadium, which ended much earlier than the White Plains shows.

It was from the radio ads run locally on the sports station i don't know if she ran it on others. I remember hearing it when in town for the shows. Miss those days of collectors "wrapped around the building". Fun times bought and sold some great things at those shows.

Those Giants Stadium shows were a bit of a cluster fuck in terms of the stampede mentality, very little room to move etc.
And I miss every minute of it. |
Was that the jingle that went...."Lets go........ we're going to the card show"
on WFAN ??? |
I would believe that is what my friend was referring to. Would love to hear it if anyone has saved a copy,
|
never attended any of these shows, but was recently at a (non-sportscard) show and people - including dealers(!) were actually bitching about there being TOO MANY customers! while I "get" the whole "stampede mentality" complaint, it's soooo rare that there's too many people there! I guess I'm too old - especially as a part-time dealer - and seriously miss those "clusterfuck" days...

The the mid 1980s as the baseball card shop owner, I was every bit as much of a celebrity as the local weatherman. I would walk into a restaurant and would have people say, "look, it's the baseball card man!" Those days will never pass this way again.
