I was always interested in who Memo Luna was on card 222 of the '54 Bowman set, and over the years I kept an ever growing file on this one-game wonder who managed to get his own baseball card. Last week I finally wrote the story of Memo Luna, the first Mexican-born southpaw in the majors |
Gary, very impressive research and article. Thanks for sharing that.

Great article - thanks for the insight.
That card always stuck out from the rest of the set, almost like a Sid Finch card stuck into a Topps set. Now, we know the rest of the story... |
Thanks for the nice words about my story, and most of all, thanks for posting a copy of the card. I was trying to find my copy but I must have shuffled it somewhere when I was putting everything back in my Memo Luna file after I was done writing it.

Thanks for posting. I've had his card signed for a while. And new he was an obscure player. It's great to know the story behind his career and life.

Well done, and very informational. Always wondered about him. Thanks for posting this.
