Ballgame at Butler NJ, July 21st, 1906 (Large Scans)
As we know real photo postcards were used as photos in the early 1900s. Here are 4 rppcs from the same game. I especially like the caption on the third one. These are very large scans on purpose....enjoy

Love "argumenting"! :) Thanks for sharing. Very cool.

Great stuff!
People in the grandstand must be season ticket holders. |
All I could think of was one of the batters pulling a hard-hit pitch straight down the third base line into the happy fans who are far to close to the action. Ooouch!

That's great. I used to live in Boonton; I suspect this game was on the grounds now occupied by the high school. A lot of the old homes are still there; next time I'm there I'll have to check it out and see if I can't find the houses in the distance and take a picture from the same vantage point.
ETA looks like it says "At Butler" on the postcards, so it's not in Boonton. I'm not as familiar with Butler and don't get there as often, but I do "argument" a lot. -Al |
Argumenting is just part of adulting.
