What would this card grade? (54 Bowman Mays)
2 Attachment(s)
This card looks really sharp in my hand, but I tend to miss some things. As a result, my two submissions have come back about two grades below where I thought that they would on average.
In my '54 Bowman set, my #65 Mantle and #66 Williams are both 6's (I bought them already slabbed). I would like to get the Mays graded to have the big three cards in holders and I would hope that Mays would be a 6 as well. However, if it comes back a 4, I will be bummed. Can the experts take a look at the scans and tell me +/- what you think it would grade and if it would be worth getting it put into the slab? When I look at the image, the corners are much sharper in hand. If you look at the back of the card image, that feels more representative. Thanks a bunch Kevin |
I would say it's a 5.5-6.5 range.

Nice card. Hard to tell not in hand. Lower right looks a bit touched. My initial reaction was 6.

I'd be very surprised if that got less than a 6.
Did you compare it to the other 6's you have? |
It all depends on what type of day the grader is having and its not 5:00 on a Friday afternoon

Might not grade. Did you measure the card?

I think I am okay but what is very apparent is that I am not great with the scanner. Thank you for all of the input |
That's an EX MT card to me, but PSA might knock it down to a 5 or 5.5 as they are so tough now with corners.

6 but...
I tend to "root" for the higher grade. Looks like a great card to me.
Anyone ever notice that his signature on this card is Willie May. Wonder if a clerk at Bowman signed these images of the signatures. Tony |
