RIP: Rusty Staub
One of my favorite players.

RIP
A pretty classy guy, truly a renaissance man, a very good ball player, with a long career, learned French when he became an Expo so he could interact with people in Montreal, especially kids, then later became a chef. |

RIP Le Grand Orange

When the Expos came to town, he was indeed our first Major League star. A benevolent human being, and always gregarious. Another part of my youth has gone...

Any chance Staub gets into the HOF in the future?
|
I don't think he's a Hall-of-Famer...I'd put him in the next tier. He had a fine career but, IMO, he falls short.
I would put a lot of my personal favorites in that same category, so I don't feel like I'm slighting the man for saying that. Apparently, he was at least as good a man as he was a player - and that's as good as any Hall-of-Fame. |
