Landed my White Whale - An Eagles Promo Nodder
After many years of looking for one, and a couple swing and misses in the past when opportunities presented themselves, I finally added an Eagles Promo to my collection today. Just figured I'd share the photo of it. Would love to see any other promo nodders that net54'ers have.

Fantastic piece Keith. I have been looking for a Vikings promo for years as well.
|
Congrats Keith! It's always great to be able to finally capture the white whale.
|
Thanks everyone! Its been quite the month and a half as a fan and collector of the Birds. I went to Minneapolis with my dad and brother in law for the game, attended the parade with my dad, wife, and son, and now to add this piece to my collection is quite the cherry atop the sundae.
Rob, its previous owner reached out to me after seeing my collection on my website. One of his relatives had worked for the Eagles in the late 50's - early 60's, and this one had resided in a Franklin Field souvenir stand. |
Keith,
For a nodder novice like myself, could you explain why this is so incredibly rare. I've never collected them but always thought they were really cool. And everybody but me seems to know how special this is, and I feel left out.:( Thank you. |
Very nice...great job! At least somebody got their white whale. I think I'll have to float around out here on Queequeg's coffin a bit longer. LOL
|
Thanks.
Barry, These larger promotional nodders were never made for sale to the public. They were made in very limited quantities as store display/advertising pieces. So this one was likely in some sort of souvenir stand in Franklin Field, designed to attract attention and get fans to buy the smaller square based nodders. |
Thank you.
|
Personally I haven’t stopped nodding since I first saw this thread.;)

Awesome display! season ticket holder since 1992 |
Such a cool piece! Can we get a picture of the whole curio to get the full impact of how the promo piece looks in all its glory...
|
Thanks Mark, Neal, and Frank.
See you at the Linc Neal. Already can't wait for the opening game next season, banner dropping, etc. Wish Blount and some others would be there for them to get their ovation, but still will be awesome. Rob, I believe there are Yankees promos out their promoting the color based baseball series, but I believe, and I could be wrong, that they were the only team made. I'm sure others here know better than me. Here you go Mark, In my display case are various nodders, kails, hartlands, Gibbs Conners, other figurals, player awards, my better game used helmets, my favorite early game jerseys, an assortment of Frankford Yellowjackets programs, tickets, 3 1933 Eagles ticket stubs, and the first Eagles program in their history (a 1933 preseason game program) http://antiquesportsshop.com/eaglesdisplaycaseR.jpg |
