The Natural -- did they add scenes on iTunes?
I've seen this movie 100 times -- but haven't watched it fully in about 15 years. I swear a few scenes were added when I purchased on iTunes tonight. They are as follows:
1) Putting the baseball in a vice and swinging the bat that shatters. 2) Max Mercy working the microfilms and old versions of the newspaper in the room. 3) Roy visiting his house at the beginning as an adult. Am I crazy? These weren't in the original movie version, right? That 3rd note makes me think I haven't, because I'd remember those scenes, but the other ones, I'm curious if I'm losing my mind. |
Can't speak to any other perceptual or behavioral quirks you may be experiencing, but based on just that evidence,
no, you're not losing your mind. Very common now for DVD and on-line app versions of movies to include scenes that were left out of the original theatrical and cable TV releases. Scenes cut from those original versions were usually cut at the studio's demand for shorter running time. The restored footage is in most cases put back in at the director's behest and labelled as "director's cut." In some cases it improves the movie (we like the longer version of Alien even better than the original), in others it just bogs things down a bit. Hey, that was post #600! |
