is this real or fake T206 Taylor?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1909-11-T20...p2047675.l2557
I won this auction other day as it was only listed for 24 hours. I contact a board member about this fishy looking card since the border seems too big for a real T206 card that I thought it would be cool to have if it was a real. I contact the seller after I won this card to let him know that this is a reprint card but he kept saying that its real and he just open a non payment case on me. There's no factory information on the back so its 100 percent reprint card, right? How can I make the seller cancel this order? Thanks, Danny |
FAKE! Sorry.
|
pay for it and then file a claim with ebay when you get a fake.
|
No factory designation on the back. Fake.
|
I would contact seller and just say upon close inspection this card is clearly fake and you would like to cancel order. Why go through all the trouble and extra money to have it shipped to you just to return it.
|
Not just the missing factory #
I've never seen a 'real' Piedmont back that wasn't blue.

all good now
Seller finally replied and cancelled this order, whew. I hope he wont re-list it without saying it's a reprint card.
Thank you all for making me not buying and think it might be printed 100+ years ago :) |

Haven't read the Forum in a few days, but I actually did my duty when I saw this card on 1/28/18 and contacted the seller to tell him it was a replica:
New message from: jmaccollectibles (1,156Red Star) Well was not obvious to me. But thank you for taking the time to point out. Thanks again Reply Your previous message This card appears to be an obvious reprint. It has no factory number on the bottom back, which all genuine T206's do. Glad he finally refunded your money. |
I like that the card has the correct dot-matrix printing on the front — you don’t see that on reprints — and I don’t think the lettering on the name and team are black, or that the Piedmont isn’t blue (it’s a poorly lit photo). The missing factory designation looks like it came away when this card was soaked off of a scrap book, which the frayed edges and corners suggest happened.
But what I can’t explain is the blue shadowing on the bottom front, which disappears and shows up on the reverse on the wrong side. That’s really weird. Either way I’d prefer a better picture or scan, but I would wait to have the card in hand before crying fraud. Just my two cents... |
But the front just looks off. Many times that is a bad sign.
