Mary Ann or Ginger?
In honor of the age old question "Mary Ann or Ginger?", I'll ask "Baseball or Baseball Cards?"
If you could only keep one, which would it be? As for me and my family, it's Baseball. |
I'll take Mary Ann and baseball.
|
Without Baseball there are no Baseball cards.

I don't want to give one of them a complex by choosing so I will take both Mary Ann and Ginger. Then we are going to a ball game and out for beverages;)

Not to make you guys jelly or anything, but I actually know Mary Ann. A friend of mine is her manager. I've even been to her birthday party and she is a really nice woman who embraced her fame instead of resenting it. She is a pretty talented actress and it probably limited her opportunities after she "got off the island" but is also opened some doors. I think there's a lesson in there or something. She is still a very pretty woman.
As to your other question, my answer surprises me as I am not generally an autograph guy but if: 1) the 1964 giants include several deceased, big name and tougher autos o good quality and if: 2) the Southern Leaders are not of stunning grade and quality or rarer back I think I would keep the 1964 Topps Giants autos. The reason is that while the T206 Southern Leaguers are a little tougher to find, you can absolutely buy nice mid-grade examples any day of the week. All it takes is money. Suddenly the Topps Giants are 50 years old and replacing autographed versions of them will increasingly become more difficult. Ginger of Mary Ann in their prime? Both please. |

I was actually searching the net for clothes that Mary Ann created which are easy to put on and take off for people that have difficulties....i wasnt sure if she still had that line but heard about it on a radio show |
Ginger later in life lived in an apartment in Manhattan not far from my office. And she hung out at the bar of the same Italian restaurant all the time. Same seat, same bar, same restaurant. When she was pointed out to me once I was a little stunned. Let's say she enjoyed the bar scene and leave it at that. I thought Mary Ann was way hotter on the show and she was certainly a lot better looking when I would see Ginger late in life enjoying the vodka tonics.

I am 56 and still love to throw a baseball with my son (who is now very nearly a man) or go to a ball game, minor league or major league. Anyone who doesn't see Mike Trout or Clayton Kershaw play is missing something in my opinion. Times change, the pay scale changes, concepts, and strategies evolve but at the end of the day it is the same as in 1910 when a pitcher threw the ball and hitter tried to hit it.
Probably next year I'll either start coaching again or ump. No other game like it IMO. |

I will have to say Baseball hands down. If cards stopped being produced today it wouldnt matter to me as all the cards I like have been made already!

I voted cards , since the move of my beloved Montreal Expos back in 2004 , I lost interest in the game but not in its rich history.

Baseball for me
I've been collecting cards since I was a kid.
Played it most of my younger days. Nothing beats watching a 1-0 game. I voted baseball. |

Sad hear that about Bailey. He was my fave as a young Expos fan. I grew up about a 20 minute walk from the Olympic Stadium, so you know Jarry Park was a long bus, subway, subway, bus ride for me. But I spent a lot of my youth there. |

Hands down.......MaryAnn and Baseball. However, both MaryAnn and Ginger were HOT in the episode as the group "The Honey Bees".

I voted Baseball.
Late July night, 70 or so degrees, light breeze, Fenway Park, Red Sox vs. anyone....doesn't get much better than that. |

Baseball. Since the original question was regarding baseball, not necessarily MLB. :)

If this question was posted in the 60s, it would definitely have been baseball for me. But today it's baseball cards.
