T206 Uncut Sheet
I was going thru Newspapers.com today and noticed this article. One picture looks like an uncut sheet of T206 ( 3 rows of 9 and 1 row of 5 ( horizontal cards = 32 cards ). Is this original ? Paper was from 1982.

What article Mike? It sounds interesting.

I can't load any attachments for some reason. Let's try this:
If you click the link it has the entire article. Anyone know this collector from the 1980's ? Great stuff ! https://www.newspapers.com/image/910...im%2Bnelson%22 |
I would guess that they're pasted. Haven't had time to review players to see if they could exists on a sheet together.
|
I would guess that they are reprints (if not pasted)...
|
Either paste or reprint
At the very least the Pattee and the Evers/Johnson cards are mutually exclusive
|
Do you think a guy with that type of collection would have reprints ? Unless he didn't know they were reprints.
|
Best thing about the article is that he sold items to comedian Jonathan Winters. I didn't know he was a collector.

for the free trial but they want your credit card info for the 7 day free trial. |
same

Quite the HOF star power on that sheet. I doubt it's an actual uncut sheet.

I don't have the computer skills to get this article attached etc.
Anyone with a Newspapers.com account that can help ?? Pittsburgh Post - Gazette Jan 21, 1982. Thanks. I've tried everything. |
I’ve seen ...
A similar hobby magazine article. I may even have it . If it’s the same it’s just a compilation of the cards .
|
a Ted Z. Sheet

Even with a Newspapers.com account, you have to have the top tier account to see this particular newspaper and I am pretty sure the 7 day trial won't include it.

This is as good of a copy as I can do.

I would say the cards are pasted on a sheet.
Second row from the top, last card on the right - Schulte (back view) is a print group 4. Third row from the top, fifth card from the left - Rucker (portrait) is a print group 1. |
I agree. I also think it unlikely that the horizontals were printed with a different perspective than the verticals, particularly since the backs may have been printed separately.
|
not an uncut sheet
I have an account and blew it up a bit , you can clearly see the heavy backing its on as well as a card that does not line up perfectly. Not an uncut sheet.
