"Traced Over Autograph"
I won this card in an auction. I really don't care about the autograph, because it is the next to last card I need for my set! The auction description said:
"Boston Celtics, Rookie Card, Certified Authentic Enhanced Autograph, GAI Grade Refers to the Authenticity of the Autograph, not the Grade of the Card. The autograph is authentic, but has been traced over to enhance its appearance., Certification #10049441" Nothing on the flip says anything about the autograph being traced over. I was happy with the price I paid for the card, autographed or not. Looking at the autograph using a loupe, it may have been traced over, or maybe the pen was running out of ink? Why would this be mentioned in the description, and not on the flip? I think the description chased away some bidders? There are literally hundreds of Jeter, Favre, etc. forgeries in those GAI slabs. A link to one of my threads is below. https://live.autographmagazine.com/f...ar-bill-gai-co |
Heinsohn has not signed this way in decades. This is actually a very hard card to find with a vintage Heinsohn signature. Due to the fresh appearance of the signature I would not have bid, and I am looking for one. If this was not "enhanced" I would be even more paranoid buying Celtics autographs.

Thanks for the replies. I cracked out the card and it now resides comfortably in the cardboard box with the other cards in my full set (minus Russell RC).
