BST Auction Football Winnings
Anybody win anything in the recent BST Auction? What an incredible selection of rare, vintage football!
Post your winnings here. jeff |
Nobody picked up anything from that incredible auction?
I snag a few things but this card is the highlight. As Carl knows, there's only two of these variations of the Shotwell Grange Ad Back card #9 known to exist. This was pretty much a must get item for me for my collection. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/bT...U=w579-h900-no jeff |
Awesome card Jeff -- I didn't know the details of that variation until I read the auction item description.
No wins for me. I had my eye on the Exhibit checklist card but there was quite the bidding war for that one. --Tim |
No bidding for me this time around. I was SO tempted but other priorities have me distracted at this time.
Nice pickup Jeff - your knack for rare cards is amazing. Based on rarity seems like a pretty reasonable price. |
I picked these two items up. I'll likely be putting the stationary up in the buy/sell/trade section as I was really only after the ticket.

Nice snag, John. I love those Oorang tickets! They are so cool.

BST Auction Football Winnings
I picked up some of the Shotwell pieces. Maybe I’ll bid on the American Indian Cigar Labels next time. I think they it’s time to move them to eBay and put some more FB out there. Just my opinion.

Am kinda surprised that nobody other than me and Carl on Net54 picked up any football in BST ... it was the auction of the century for football collectors!

(I’m new here but) I honestly didn’t see anything I wanted. Though I do have a very narrow want list.

I bid on both the Mayo cards, but didn't get either. I ignored the 2 high grade Chicle Hinkles, but that was a mistake, I thought the lower graded one sold a little low probably because of the presence of the other one.
Jeff, is your Star Player Candy set more filled in than before the auction? How close are you to completion? |

did not know about this auction. Sorry to have missed it.

I've been trying to collect the Packer's photos for players who were teammates of my father and added one more to the group in the latest BST auction
https://s3.amazonaws.com/files.websi...m/1237/3588837 Wilson started in the NFL the same year as my dad, 1926, when Wilson played for Buffalo. Wilson was on the 1927 NFL Championship NY Giants and stayed with them until 1930 when he played for the Giants, Green Bay and Staten Island in one season. In 1931 Wilson was with Green Bay and in '32 and '33 played for Portsmouth. The white whale of these for me will be Johnny Blood McNally - don't know if I'll ever see one in my price range. He and my father were both in the backfield of the 1928 Pottsville Maroons. |
Nice pickup and great info, Mike! You outgunned me for that one.
