HoF PC Project (1910s/1920s)
I am trying to acquire 1 card for each person in the Hall of Fame (if possible). I have broken down the members by era (Pre-War, Post War, Modern), and have different requirements for each era.
Pre War: Any playing days card. Post War: Their last card. Modern: Their rookie card. I am not looking to complete this project in one post, but want to see what's available and buy a little here and a little there. The following are a list of players/backs I currently need from the 1910s/1920s. I am looking for lower grade examples, with minimal to no paper loss, no writing/marks (stamps, especially date, might be ok), but creasing/wear is ok. I prefer the HoFers to be graded by SGC, but would consider other companies (raw is least preferred). George Kelly (1922 American Cararmel - E120 or E121) Ross Youngs (1922 American Cararmel - E120 or E121) Harry Hooper (M101, 1921 American Caramel - E121) Dave Bancroft (1921 American Caramel - E121, 1922 American Caramel - E120, E121, E122) Jesse Haines (1922 American Caramel - E121, E120 or '33 Goudey) Stan Coveleski (1922 American Caramel - E120, E121 or 1922 W575-1) Goose Goslin (1922 American Caramel - E120, W573, '33 Goudey) Eppa Rixey (1916 M101-5, 1921 American Caramel, 1922 American Caramel, 1922 W575-1, '33 Goudey) Sam Rice (1922 American Caramel, 1922 W575-1, '33 Goudey) Edd Roush Max Carey (1922 American Caramel) Ray Schalk (1916 M101-5, 1921 American Caramel, 1922 American Caramel Gabby Hartnett (1922 American Caramel, '33 Goudey) Grover Cleveland Alexander (1922 American Caramel, 1922 W575-1) Please PM or email me at kmayusa6060@gmail.com. |
This is almost exactly the goal I had when I first got back into collecting 2.5 years ago.
I've since decided to stick exclusively to prewar and 19th century, and am down to only Plank in the prewar category (Wagner too if I don't count the coaching days cards). I've also expanded my goals since then by quite a bit (complete sets, master sets, all HOFers from other sets, type cards, T205/206 backs, etc). It's a slippery slope... Best of luck! |
