Hahaha I thought I struck gold for a second! All I saw was the title and dollar amount at first. Still a really cool piece that will be a great fit in someone’s collection.

It's an absolutely great photo. Look at the serious expression's on some of the kids faces. Baseball meant a lot to youth in those days, not like today, with the darn video games and everything else.
|
C'mon Greg look at their faces you think any of them missed an inning??? And with that coach! These kids couldn't spell ACL thus they never had one torn, or if they did, they played through it!
|
Tyler, what are saying, false advertising? Just kidn', hey they even have Yankee pinstripes!
....and Scott you are correct. These kids played ball (hell they were the Champs of the Bronx!) and their hero's were named Ruth and Gehrig! |
I heard the PS12 kids were tough ;)
|
Neat photo - do you know who the old fella is in the back? That's none other than Dr. John F. Condon, alias "Jafsie" from the Lindbergh kidnapping fame. In 1932 he was the retired principal of P.S. 12 who inserted himself into the case as a middleman between Lindbergh and the kidnapper/murderer Bruno Richard Hauptmann.

Wow Gary, not sure how you did it, but that's amazing you connected that.
Appreciate your vast knowledge once again!!! |
