your thoughts on this grade?
Im looking for high grade of T206 Taylor and I came up with this one. Would this card still be 7 with that off centering in today holder? Can it be a PSA 8 OC?

Grading is always subjective, but if I were to make a guess, I'd say that 7 is too off-center to get a 7 today.

It's probably what, 33-66 L-R centering along with 20-80 T-B centering. Here is the definition for PSA 7:
"Centering must be approximately 70/30 to 75/25 or better on the front, and 90/10 or better on the back." So I would say no. It wouldn't get the same grade today. EX-MT 6 allows for up to 80/20 on the front, so that would probably what it would get today. |
Interesting that the slab is SOOO OLD (how old is it?) that it just says 1911 on the slab, not even T206. And definitely not SC 350/30.
On the plus side, it's a Pop 10 (for all backs/brands) with only 3x 8's (1 EPDG, 1 SC/?, and one unknown) above it, and it's likely the highest graded with that specific back. If it was reholdered, it would gain some additional value to registry set collectors. |

I also think it is too off center for a 7 by today's standards. Nice looking card though... . |
