BST Pricing and Folly Warning
For those that want to play games on the BST with prices, because of recent issues, your BST privileges will be suspended if I get wind of it. A longtime member now has his BST privileges suspended because of it. Please let me know of any issues over there and they will be dealt with quickly and professionally. If anyone else want to play games no worries, have at it......thanks all....

What are we suppose to be on the look-out for? Is there more than posting "sold" prices on B/S/T?

Agree - Thanks.

You know I used to get a lot of stuff off BST and always looked forward to checking out what others had to offer. Over the past few months, I have found more and more items priced at retail and generally uninspiring. The bumps of things that have been there for months reminds me of a BIN museums on eBay. Maybe I'm just in an interest slump, but the pickins have sure seemed slim.

I do get a good laugh from the member that acted like he knew nothing. Then instantly stating posting listings that rival an auction houses in their description.:) |

P.S I have been on here for over a year and a half now.. Imagine what one can learn by reading thread after thread after thread as well as asking the right questions to the right people. There is no substitute for hard work and being hands on. |

"an"
Sorry I do not go back and check for spelling errors in 2017 when HBU = How bout you, LMAO = laughing my ass off , and TTYL = Talk to you later.... |
I have an "average" IQ. I like to think I'm doing my part in helping other smarter folks, beat the curve.
:D |
When Reggie Jackson bragged about having an IQ of 160, Mickey Rivers delivered his famous retort: “Out of what? A thousand? You can’t even spell IQ.”
|
My favorite is when someone (no names) who tries to poke fun a lot and is knowledgeable makes a trade with me and the card I receive is "altered stock" from Psa when submitted. While the majority of people on here kick ass, there are some real "winners" as well

But "interference" from 3rd parties, not involved in the sale still flies.

Let's don't make a big deal of it and continue the way it's gone for years. Nothing has changed. Just read the rules and post here if there is something you don't understand and I will be glad to clarify. Overall, it is the intent of one's post that is going to be the issue. If someone games the system it will be dealt with as it always has been. Not sure what else can be said really. . |
Leon, I know you're trying to be diplomatic and are keeping your cards close to the vest, but can you give us a little more information on what's going on here?

I've been a member for over 10 years now and I think the biggest change with our bst is that it has become more of a resource for sellers that don't contribute to the main forum(unless defending themselves to an issue). Less likely to be a skeezer on bst when you're an active part of the community?

Only one encounter and memory - THANKFULLY! - of this boor, but it was / is lasting. It was maybe 30 years ago at the SF Labor Day show at the Moscone. The aisles were packed. I had the misfortune of being in the same aisle that Reggie and his cadre of muscle goons were on. They essentially bulldozed and elbowed everybody not behind a table, out of the way so the precious Mr. Jackson could pass unimpeded. Never cared for the guy before, have cared for him even less since. Helluva ballplayer, but as a human being . . . meh! :(

I met Reggie
I met Reggie at an Alan Rosen show at Madison Square Garden. He bought a couple Reggie rookies from me. It was the first time I ever set up in New York and I remember the show vividly. Reggie was very nIce and respectful in negotiations and even conversed in some small talk. I was 18 at the time and he thought it was cool I was running my own business selling. Vintage baseball cards with my parents helping me out.

For the record, back to topic, as a firm believer in the punishment should fit the crime, I believe our longtime member was suspended from the BST for +/- 1 hour. Now get out there and get back at it kids!! ...Does anyone else remember getting run out of the house in the mornings (in the summer) and then getting let back in later on in the afternoon (or to eat)? Playing sandlot ball and riding bikes with the other kids were the days activities. Seems like just yesterday...well, not really. It's seems like a long freaking time ago but that doesn't fit the narrative as well. Here is an rppc of some kids in uniforms...
|
No, my punishment was different. I was kept in the house when I was "being bad." Getting let out was a good thing. :) That doesn't really apply to the BST situation.
