1988 Fleer Scottie Pippen RC: Undervalued or Not?
I'm just looking at a PSA 9 example now that went for only $50! Meanwhile, the 86' Fleer Jordan in the same grade is selling for $3,500 to $4,000. It gets worse. A PSA 10 Pippen is fetching $500 to $600. And Jordan? This is crazy - $18,000 to $20,000+:eek:
Without Pippen, Jordan wouldn't have a single ring. What are your thoughts on this? |
One is an iconic player of a generation, maybe the best ever. The other was just a really good second fiddle.

Pippen would probably be triple that if he was in the tougher 86 Fleer issue, but other than that, it's as Jeff says.

Yeah, Pippen, Stockton, Rodman........there's some pretty neat rookies (if you don't count Star) in that set. If those guys were issued just one year earlier in the 1987 set, which is weak on rookies but a much tougher set, they'd likely be worth much more.
Still scratch my head a bit why Stockton doesn't have an earlier card. He was a mid-1st round pick coming out of the 84 draft. Took him a few years to really get going but he was getting minutes and dishing out a good number of assists from the beginning. |
