T206 Ty Cobb Bat Off

2 Attachment(s)
Not sure where to post this but I have an oportunity to buy a Cobb batt off shoulder. The guy is unsure of price and I want to make a fair offer to him. Can I get some ideas of what may be good since I don't mess with T206's.

$700-$800 would be a fair price.

Gobucsmagic74 08-18-2017 04:49 PM

That's a PSA/SGC 1. I'd offer $500 as a starting point and wouldn't pay over $600

Thank you guys.

$700 is a good price for that Cobb

cammb 08-19-2017 01:38 PM

If it is not graded, I wouldn't touch it.

+1

even if it is real, $700 is a steep price. Not sure I'd pay more than 500

vintagerookies51 08-19-2017 03:55 PM

Yeah some of those answers sound steep... I've dealt with a few Cobbs in this condition and I'd say $500 is a fair price for a Bat Off

I know enough about the cards that I don't need them graded to know if they are real or not. On eBay you can find him between $800-$1200 pretty regularly in the same condition or worse. But that's just my observation.

Are these BIN prices, or have there been actual sales in this range?

Cobb

It`s looking more and more like the Green Cobb "Wave", collectors are saying buy now or never, is starting to make smaller fish like me turn towards the other 3 Cobb 06`s. I `d really like to add a Green Cobb to my collection but wow appears that shipped has sailed so maybe Red, Bat On/Off as an alternative. As far as this Bat Off as others have mentioned, around 700.00 seems about right. Not crazy about the stains but overall presents decently enough for the average collector, can you find better, yes but it will take some luck because it`s not lasting long. My 2 cents and good luck with the hunt sir.

I ask because I do not deal in 206's often enough to know prices. So after 12+ hours to look up a card and call a few guys I got more detailed info.

Even one's missing paper stock to the extent of this one on the top left edge? Again, asking prices and realized prices are two totally different things. I hope you didn't pay anywhere near that price range if you pulled the trigger.

Again thank you all for the help on this card.

Yes I was able to buy it at a fair price I thought. As far as comparisons I would say that the fact the creases do not go through the face of of Cobb like the PSA 1.5 is a major benefit. So after a little water and cotton swabbing I was able to get it cleaned up and am actively taking offers via Ebay or PM if anyone is interested.
