It's great that the guy recognized something different and interesting about that bat. Otherwise, it might have been lost.

Agreed, the stuff (collector) dreams are made of.

I love hearing stories like this. It gives hope to everyone that someday they may find something as well.

A similar bat that sold for $1900 was auctioned at REA in the spring of 2009---when the economy was pretty weak! This one ought to bring considerably more.

Right now, untold numbers of people are pouring over every single known picture of Pie Traynor looking for a photo match.

My best find was last month in Maine...an 8-panel uncut sheet of 1957 Topps cards.

Wow. I used to live 10-15 minutes from there. Small world sometimes.
