eBay oddity
Last night I did some old school last second bidding on a low end item and sent my bid with 5 seconds left. The screen counted down and after the timer hit zero the green bar appeared at the top saying I won the item for $11.75.
I went to my home page to pay for it and it never appeared. I then checked my watch list for completed items and saw the final amount in red at $12.25? I backed up to the original bid screen which still said I won? Apparently not? |
I've had that happen before as well. Glitch in their system, unfortunately.

Me as well. I don't think I ever saw a notification that I won and then didn't but I have seen where I was top bidder as time ran out and then, poof, I checked and another person won. I think it is more a result of a slight delay during peak times.

I had 2 gavelsnipe bids that didn't execute last night- both well above the winning bid

Noticed in a couple of GavelSnipe bids recently that their clock appeared to have been out of synch
with eBay's clock by as much as ten seconds (watching auction tick down with both websites open). Both clocks in perfect synch on other recent bids. |
I had several GavelSnipe bids that didn't go through last night. When I check them now, most of them just aren't there, and a couple of them (on which my snipe was significantly higher than the winning bid) show as losses with a note of "Snipe not executed" because it wasn't high enough to hit the next bid increment, which is incorrect.
I thought I must have changed my eBay password recently and completely forgotten about it, so I went back into GavelSnipe a little while ago and set up my eBay password there again. Looks like maybe my memory isn't to blame. This time. |
Must have been a Gavelsnipe issue last night, as I had multiple Gavelsnipe bids placed, and all of them did not process. If I had consigned to PWCC (my bids were not with them) I would be upset at all the potential dropped bids.
