Vicarious enjoyment of 1952 Berk Ross
So many sets of the early 50s seem to be missing critical players. Meanwhile, 1952 Berk Ross has Mantle, Mays, Williams, DiMaggio, Robinson, Musial, etc.
I'd never really seen most of these until browsing the National. Reading up a bit, I see the set was perhaps unlicensed, and some poor images such as the washed out Mantle detract. However, the incredible lineup of players and its relative affordability make it a fun set to think about going after someday. Am curious if anyone here has completed it.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...0fbc7ffcc6.jpg Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk |

http://www.1952toppsbaseballcards.co...rapperPage.htm I think of some key missing players from the 52 Topps set and wonder how much more popular, if any, that set would be? (About half way down) http://www.1952toppsbaseballcards.com/ |

From a pack

22-3 win-loss record. What a season! When did you rip the pack? Am guessing more recently than 1952.

Don't have a set, only this Musial. Hope you don't mind that this is a 1951 Berk Ross. Maybe we can build a "virtual" set for you on this thread.

Reviving a old post I'm sure. But had to share that I missed out on the holy grail yesterday. Some guy had a complete box if packs. Sold them for a whopping $200.......

Completed the master set years ago when the stars were affordable. Just last week I sent Mantle, DiMaggio and Robinson to PSA.
BTW boxes of 1951 BR were still on sale at Woolworths in Abilene, TX in 1954. I should have loaded up. |
