Not for nothing, but the bunny pictured is brown, and the tuft of fur is white. Clearly some authenticity issues here.

Mebbe it's an ultra ultra rare variation.

This is why I only stick to buying rare rookies on the secondary market when buying modern cards. I remember Topps even made autographed cards of their own employees. I would be pissed off to find something like that after spending money for a box of that stuff.

Maybe they should make an auto/relic card of Topps' executive managers giving the middle finger. Hell, they can even embed their fingernail clipping from their middle finger as a 1/1! LOL

I went down this rabbit hole (if you'll pardon the expression) because I went after a cool Gene Hackman auto card, but they have some real head scratchers. I can't imagine any hobbyist getting excited about pulling a Nick Jonas auto.

I generally don't collect modern cards but if I was going for a fictional character it would have been this one.

Say what you will but Allen Ginter is one of the funner more interesting sets out there these days. To each their own.

Scott--I am not familiar with the Topps employee autograph cards you mention but in 1970 Topps put out a set featuring their employees that now goes for decent money

And in 1975 they helped a guy put out a set of Photographers all dressed in baseball gear, including Ansel Adams, that also gets good money now

Those are pretty cool! However, there is something about Topps charging collectors for what they do and pulling a marketing assistant's autograph in lieu of a sports star or celebrity - or manufactured bunny fur LOL (I can't believe I just said manufactured bunny fur). I'm all for collecting what people care to collect, but stuff like that has made me narrow my collecting focus over the years.

By the way, is that THE Ansel Adams or a relative of his. If so that would be damn neat. Thanks for sharing those.

Those subsets are awesome and of a time. Randomly inserted into regular wax, I bet that would have been a fun find. And I know there are people who need the Stephen A. Smith and Jayson Stark autos for their Philadelphia Inquirer columnist master sets. I guess I just can't wrap my head around the Easter Bunny cards going for a big premium. But I don't get modern virtual cards either, so more power to whomever collects these things.

Scott-- it is the well known photographer. In fact most of the people in the set were well known photographers. It was Mandell ( pictured above) who had an idea for the set and baseball theme. Topps helped produce it and supplied him free gum to insert in the packs he had made up and gave away or sold

That's absolutely unreal! I figured the others were notable photographers as well. But, to have the most iconic photographer in American history on a Topps card (a vintage Topps card at that) is priceless. Do you know if Mandell took the photos himself or it was more of a collective effort? Also, was this given out at an art reception or just to his close friends, etc.? That kind of stuff should be in the Smithsonian's art gallery. Thanks again for sharing that - never would have imagined something like that even existed.

Post-script....so the Easter Bunny is a three hundred dollar card, and I just dropped a few bucks more on a Gene Hackman 1/10 red ink card. I don't always buy modern, but when I do I lose my mind and overpay because my favorite actor's autograph is on an artificially scarce piece of brand new cardboard.

Fantastic! Way better than those Upper Deck Bugs Bunny baseball cards of yore.
