Is this a gamer Olympic jersey?
So I have been looking all over the internet, and can not figure out exactly what it is that I have.
Is this a gamer? If not what the heck is it! haha Here are some photos. Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://sportscardalbum.com/c/tdr8i1d9.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/67j522u5.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/58ntmyy2.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/1mu1z93m.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/ka20y928.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/8rq16dsa.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/r53ts1g7.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/gt5g4n97.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/557a89dt.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/7q75013x.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/34n73p1a.jpg https://sportscardalbum.com/c/d9bh1977.jpg |
The logo is from the 1984 LA Summer Olympics. McDonald's was a huge sponsor of that Olympics and ran an enormous marketing campaign that ultimately lost them millions. I don't think this has anything to do with the actual Olympics. Two thoughts...1) McDonald's sponsored basketball summer camps for youths (and other sports) - this could be a camp jersey. 2) Maybe an employee jersey that the employees wore during the Summer of '84.

Possibly a company sponsored softball team. Corporate sponsorship logos or patches are not allowed on Olympic uniforms unless it is a team supplier of uniforms such as Nike or Adidas. Even then they are limited to their standard small logo, not a patch.

I'm lovin' it (haha) seriously...if you decide to part with it, let me know. I'd be interested. Such a unique piece, even if it doesn't wind up being worth much.

It would take some looking, but it might also be a uniform from a McDonalds setup at the games. 84 was very commercial, but nothing like 96. A lot of the vendors at the 96 games had special patches.
Another possibility would be a volunteers uniform from the games. I have a couple pieces from 96, the volunteers got special shirts that weren't available to the public, and some had special jackets. ---Unavailable to the public until the leftovers showed up at a local surplus/insurance store.
