1938 Goudey Bobby Doerr

Anyone have a low quality Doerr for sale? Was planning to send it TTM but was reluctant to send a super pricey card for fear of losing it. Thanks!

I don't understand. Is this a WTB or FS?

Did you read his question? Everything in life is not an acronym... :)

No offense to Mr Doerr, but he is 99 years old. I would probably buy one already graded.

+1 And he was a prolific signer. There must be hundreds of signed copies avail. At 99, if you were to get one to him to sign, the sig would likely be very shaky and not as visually appealing as an earlier signed card. Consider also, at 99, he may not be physically able to sign, so always a chance that what you get back may be a forgery signed by a family member. He is not a top tier HOFer, like MM, so buying a graded version won't set you back hugely.

He is still signing, though I'd prefer a vintage signature. At his age, you really have to worry about the card getting switched, damaged, misplaced, etc etc. If you did get it back, his signature isnt what it used to be per the recent photos from ttm returns
