Help identifying less obvious 1950s good cards

Hey guys. I am meeting up with my dad this upcoming weekend and we are going to go through his cards to get some graded. I haven't looked through them in close to 10 years, and none of them are going to be like 9s and 10s, but he has a lot of good cards. Mostly from like 53-56. He has a few from 1952 as well and a few from 1957. No Mantles though.

I guess my question is aside from the obvious players that we will separate, are there any hard or hidden gem cards I should be on the lookout for? I know that crazy guy tried to corner the market on a random 1952 card. Aside from that, are there any sequences or hard to find cards of players that would make a John Doe valuable that I would not otherwise know? We have around 500 cards maybe, and we are going to send some in for grading.

I already know the one that will get the most groans: A Koufax rookie that literally looks like it was crumpled up and thrown in the garbage.

1953 Topps - A few of the higher numbers Jim Gilliam, Johnny Podres and last card #280 Milt Bolling.

Look for the 1952 Topps Johnny Sain card with the wrong bio on the back. If it has Joe Page's bio, then that's the card.

I once bought a bunch of 1952 Topps commons which included the Johnny Sain card. At the time, I knew nothing about the wrong bio version. I later sold each card individually on eBay. Before I sell a card I usually research it to see if its a rookie or anything else. I was pretty shocked when I saw that I had the error version of the card.

It was a raw card (which I should have graded) but it sold for $265 back in 2009.

I think that makes a lot of sense that you are doing your research before sending the cards out to be graded. Good luck!

1952 Topps #131-190 Gray backs and 1954 Topps #1-50 Gray backs.

These are rather rare and bring quite a premium. If you have some 54's LMK.

The most annoying "error" of all time. It's clearly just some schmutz on the plate obscuring the tail of the R, NOT an actual misspelling.

Schmutz on the last E in Eugene, too. Even the W middle initial looks bad. I don't own one but wouldn't mind having one for my master set. Would I enjoy paying top dollar for one? Heck to the no.
