1962 Post Canadian Complete Set
Does anyone recall of a complete set ever coming to auction or any of the tougher shortprints coming up for sale recently.
Sorry, my question marks dont seem to be working. Thanks |
62 Post Canadian
Jim,
I am assuming you are talking about the baseball set. There has not been a set offered that I know of in recent years. There have been a couple of the short prints offered last year on Ebay. They were not in very good shape and went for stupid money. |
Thank you. Yes, I was asking about the baseball set.
|
If you don't mind me asking, what are the short prints?
|
Here is a very informative thread from a few years ago. There are quite a few shortprints but a small handful are really tough.

Either way, I have not seen many of the singles, much less the SPs or a complete (or near) complete set come up for auction or sale. I have worked on this set for several years, w/o collecting any of the variations, and have only 117/200. Besides the 71 OPC set, one of the tougher "regular" issue, non-test sets I have worked on as far as availability. |
Good question. Full set of 200 with all the shortprints.
I actually have 202, with the Whitey Ford and a Mantle variation. I would have to go through the rest of the cards with variations to see which version I have. Was thinking about selling and I could not find much sales data. |
I agree not much data....not sure how you were looking to sell. The BST here would be one place to start. As tough as some of the SPs from this set can be to find, a complete set is even harder to find. You may want to consider consigning it to a reputable AH.

Set Recap
I have 169 of 200 for my set. For the Master set I have:
Ford - Yankees/Dodgers Arroyo - Both Colavito - Both Koufax - Walks/Wazks Dan Mabey's books have very helpful. |
I do not have the book. Interesting that the koufax variation isn't better documented. The correct version seems much tougher than Ford, Yankees.

Anybody see/own have pictures of a complete box?
I know a Maris and a Mays single serving size were auctioned some years ago. Anyone have pictures of or have seen any others or any large size complete boxes?
|
How can you tell they are from a single serving size

Uncut sheets
The only uncut Canadian sheets I have are 62 Baseball Sugar Crisp which was inside the box not on the back. Same with a 62 Canadian Football sheet. I have a back box panel for the 63 Football set.

Huggins & Scott
Huggins & Scott sold two, three or four card complete boxes four or five years ago.
Still looking for four SPs from this set (Berra, Romano, Bridges and the immortal Hal Smith)--they don't come up for sale very often. |

Jim,
Only the Sugar Crisp panels were inside the box. The cards could not be seen. I have attached a scan of my Sugar Crisp panel. |

Sugar Crisp
Cliff,
All perforated cards from the 1962 Canadian Baseball and Football were from Sugar Crisp. |
Awesome!
Thanks for sharing guys! - I also goofed when I said the Maris and Mays were single serving - I was thinking of the ones in the H&S auction pictures and links of which were provided earlier in the thread.
I have an ad for the Post Canadian somewhere - If I find it before I forget about this thread, I will post a picture. Any other intact Post Canadian scans to share? |

Here is a scan of a 1962 Post Canadian Football Panel from Sugar Crisp. I have it sealed in plastic for stability purposes.
