Sick of Photobucket, Help!
I relied on photobucket for many years to host my card images and it would provide me code links to post my card images. In the last couple years it became apparent this site is a joke, is very buggy, slow, etc.
So, then I tried google images and maybe flickr. Of course these sites were nice but it seemed like certain browsers wouldn't display images properly like internet explorer would just show an "x" for that image.... So frustratingly, I returned to PBUCK b/c although it sucks I didn't have the issue of certain browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Explorer) rejecting the google image / flickr images with the dreaded "x" cannot display image. Help!!!! |
Lots of members use image event to host photos, click the link in my sig to see if it's a site you'd like,

Funny you should mention it I was just trying to get some old non hobby photos off that site. Very buggy and almost non functioning at this point. Time for a new host for me as well.

Real easy to use, never had an issue in the 6 years that I've had my account.

Same issues with photobucket here. So I decided to become a paying member at 35 per year. Has worked great ever since. No ads and works smoothly.

Same here with photobucket. A real pain. I just hate to learn how to use another site when I am so used to photobucket. Not sure what I will do yet.

I do like Imageevent like Jeff and a few others use, and likely would have went that route as well if I hadn't already tried FlickR, but overall, I am pretty happy with it too.
I am not a tech or very computer savy, but I know FlickR can do a lot more than what I currently have going on. It's free as well. :) |
Well, after spending the last 6 or 7 minutes trying to copy a picture from photobucket to another thread here, I decided to try flickr or image event. PBucket is just horrible anymore.

Took me a little over 2 minutes to open PB, locate this image, and copy it to this post. Most of that time was spent waiting for PB to load all the crappy sponsored ads. Once I'm in, I can do anything I want there in just a few seconds. What kind of problems are you guys having?
Bill Note 1: I have fewer than 100 images in my library, which may affect use time. One of my projects for this summer is to get everything scanned and uploaded. Note 2: The card below is by far my best buy ever. And its companion sits in someone else's collection because I didn't buy it at the same time--because now I already had one, of course. I had a fixed amount of funds for the National, and didn't want to spend it all in one place. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e3...F.jpg~original |
It's not as easy to use, but many internet providers give you a bit of web space, which is really good for hosting photos.
Another option is registering a domain of your own, again, not as simple, but you can do pretty much anything. Steve B |

I'd like to get rid of Photobucket but I have 2 accounts with prob 10 years+ each worth of images on. I do like Imgur but it has some getting used to. Flickr's website is annoying. The issue I have now is the Imgur app on my phone does not work but Photobucket does.
