Does anyone have an in-person Willie Mays autograph from back in the day??
It seems pretty obvious that the Say Hey Kid's autograph changed over time, but I'm looking to confirm (or get evidence) that he did indeed sign certain things that I and others around here have.
Does anyone have an autograph that you yourself got in person from Willie Mays in, say, the 60's, 70's or early 80's? Or maybe someone you know and trust got something signed in person back in the day? If so, please post pictures of it. |

My father got me this autograph in the early 60's. He was in the restaurant equipment business, and a lot of the ballplayer's were opening restaurants back then, so he was always coming home with autographs. It's on the back of his business card.

Here's one I found on ebay, supposedly circa 1951:

thanks Michael. It's the only non-Dodger item in my collection. My sister from SF keeps trying to steal it whenever she visits. Rightfully, it should be in her Giants home, but I can't give it up because it came from my Dad.

Mid 1960s, believed in-person.

A great way to look up old signatures.
Go to Hunt auctions. Look up finished auctions and write in Willy Mays. There many examples of his early signatures:D |
