For Sale circa 1939 Type 1 Lou Gehrig photo signed by wife Eleanor to former 1927 teammate Pat Collins. (JSA)

Blank back but from my internet research shows this image is from the Underwood Archives. Charles Conlon worked for Underwood however I do not know if this is a Conlon shot, more research is needed by someone better equipped then me. Conlon took photos from 1904 to 1941 and died in 1945.

This is an original vintage photo dating to 1939 most likely as it makes sense considering the gray in Lou's hair at the temples and the fact that Eleanor was signing for him due to his illness.

Just incredible to think this most probably sat at the table with Lou and Eleanor back in that fateful 1939 season and Lou asked her to make it out to his former '27 Yankees teammate, unable to sign himself.

Very large sized at almost 8" x 10" Near Mint condition, no flaws.
