Help with a Mel Ott signature
2 Attachment(s)
Thanks everyone with their help on the Banks and Skowron ball. I have a friend who acquired this baseball glove and noticed the signature on the glove. The glove is period for Otts playing days, but curious on whether the signature looks like the examples you folks have seen? Thank you again for your assistance.

It's not his signature of that I am pretty confident. It also doesn't look like a preprinted endorsement as those usually match the real signature pretty well.

The glove is endorsed by him, but was curious just on the pen signature. Did he ever sign as Mel Ott or just kept it Melvin?

Mel
He signed as mel, but that doesn't look like his signature to me

He signed both ways depending on the item. Usually Melvin for legal and Mel for causal stuff. It's just that that signature is missing some of the things I look for in an Ott including a slant. This sig is too upright for my liking.

Unfortunately Mel Ott is an easy signature to forge but fortunately this one is not close to a good forgery.

Thanks everyone for your assistance. My friend purchased it for the glove and was just wondering about the signature.
