Cranston Rhode Island card show on or off?

Last year was the 40th anniversary of the biggest show in the smallest state.

Even though it is called the Cranston show it's actually in neighboring West Warwick. I've heard nothing and can find nothing about whether it is happening, it is always Super Bowl weekend and I've been going for the last 24 years since I was 10. I will be very disappointed if it is done but know the banquet hall it has been held at is closed and the former organizer retired. Any info would be appreciated. It had a great atmosphere and a lot of vintage and prewar.

Did you shoot an email to the guy who wrote the article?

It appears that the venue, West Valley Inn, went defunct. Not sure if they moved it or not but I can not find anywhere on the internet that it is on. That would be sad as this was a very good show.

Cranston

This show is done. Wish someone would have taken over the reigns. It was a good show.

Wanted to bump this old thread. Looks like the old show will be back but now a little south, in Coventry. We need a good show around here again.

Good news! I'm in RI and attended this show many times, as far back as 1981. I know Michael Mangasarian very well - good guy.

Thanks for this info. This was and hopefully still a very good show.

Hopefully shows in general will continue to thrive. They are all a lot more fun to attend than sitting behind a keyboard all day.

I'll be game for the drive to check this out. I've been to the Mansfield, MA one almost every month since I came back to the hobby last year. I like interacting with nice dealers.

New here, but planning to check out the show for the first time this year (I'm right down the road from it in West Greenwich).
