What does the SABR Baseball Card History and Influence Research Committee do?

I know there are several SABR members on here, are any of you members of the Baseball Card History and Influence Research Committee? Every time I ponder joining SABR, I look at the page for the Baseball Card committee, but it looks like they haven't done anything in six years. Are they active?

I don't know. I am a SABR member but I'm part of the Bio Project.

I'm a member of SABR and I haven't ever seen anything going on with the Committee, I'm assuming it's inactive.

However... any Net54 SABR members want to try and revive the Committee????

Mark Armour has done some great BB Card Stuff recently and is head of the Bio Project, check with him to see if there is way to get this back in gear

Ive been a SABR member for nearly 20 years and don't recall anything about that committee. I'd love to help in reviving it.

This thread was copied from the watercooler section to get more eyes on it. I used to be a SABR member but am not now. I might have to look into it again with all of the card stuff going on :)....Good luck everyone.

I am a SABR member with not a lot of time (or knowledge for that matter) to contribute anything but would love to see the output!

I won't be bringing back the ramblings or doing as much writing as I did when I was at Sports Collectors Daily but when something gets my juices going, I will be contributing articles to the cause. In fact, an adaption of posts I made on Blowout will be posted in the next day or so.

Plus, I will, as I have been here, a resource for various parts of hobby history/research

One suggestion I will make is people who have "free" research works available such as Scott Reader and Dave Hornish (among others), make them available to that group as well. The more places we can put those dedicated works of research in, the better we will be as a hobby history repository.

Mark Armour loves cards and wanted to get this committee back into gear and if his work with BioProject is any indication, the Sabr Baseball Card Committee will rock hard!

Regards
Rich

The baseball card committee has been revived. A newsletter and a bunch of blog postings have already happened. Looks like a lot of enthusiastic people are involved.
