There has been a Canadian seller advertising an ungraded 1939 V351 Williams on ebay for sale at auction. You should be able to find it by searching ebay's past listings, but caveat emptor--let the buyer beware. The seller wanted to start the bidding at approximately $5,000, but has been resistant to my emails suggesting that he needs to get it graded and/or consign it to one of the major auction houses. IMHO, without being graded, it is impossible to tell if the card is legit by the scan. It has been up for auction on ebay at least 3x and drawn no bids. Since I already won mine at a PWCC auction in 2015, I had only a passing interest in seeing what the card might sell for. If I was interested in bidding on it or making an offer, I personally would insist on it being graded first by PSA or SGC.

Good luck in your quest, since there certainly are not many of those out there,

Larry

The V351 Williams is back on ebay, Marc, by the same Canadian seller, and still ungraded, accompanied by a description that creates concern. Good luck if you pursue it. He doesn't offer returns and states he is not an expert re condition, etc. I have told him to get it graded and send it to REA or PWCC, as stated. Big risk if you go for it, but if you do, let me know how you make out. IMHO, a real example carries with it a very bright future over time, once more vintage guys find out what it is and how very, very rare it is.

Good luck,

Larry

I've got a Menko available, would love to trade for one of the other Menko's I don't have (Shimizu, Yamamoto, Imanish, or Kawakami), or would be willing to trade for other Vintage Red Sox.

***Edit card has been sold**
