Has this M110 Wagner been worked on?

Looks like it was cleaned up and resubmitted to PSA from SGC. Then consigned to PWCC. If PSA knew it was worked on, would it then receive an Authentic grade?

Sure, let's say you told PSA you cleaned it, then they probably would grade it "authentic altered". However, a large number of people on this sight talk about soaking/cleaning a wide variety of cards and then submitting them to be graded. This issue has been discussed over and over, some say it shouldn't happen, but others say adding water and using a Q-tip is Ok, because all you did was remove something that shouldn't be there. However, using chemicals that aren't water, is frowned upon. I don't get it, but that's what has been going on for years.

one other scenario I didn't want to rule out is the photography that was used. High res scans and then using the right lighting can make a big difference too. It's pretty easy to lighten it up to hide creases and scruff marks.
If cards get soaked and cleaned, is there a chance that creases or marks may re appear in time, even though it got holderd? |
I am also thinking it may just be a difference in scannner settings, or photo vs. scan. If something was done in an attempt to remove those horizontal lines, then it wasn't very successful. It is a bit tough to tell because the SGC scan provided is pretty small.

Have you got a bigger scan of it in the SGC holder? It's really hard to compare the two with such a small picture.

I collected the M110 set about six or seven years ago. Those striations are not uncommon to the cards. I don't know for a fact but it is my understanding that the marks have more to do with the fragility of the card stock and wouldn't lend themselves to being removed by soaking or other alchemy. Based on a recent experience I do not have full faith in PWCC's scans. It would be enlightening to see what this card actually looks like in hand.
Just for fun, here's my Wagner: http://photos.imageevent.com/kawika_...M110Wagner.jpg |
