Robert Edward Auctions and Goldin Winners
Any big wins from these two auctions over the weekend? I was very suprised at the affordability of some Ruth signed items from REA.
Congrats to who ever got the '27 Yankee's Ball and 1923 Ruth Signed ball. Those were some cheap prices! What is everyone else's thoughts? |
Super strong prices realized on the rarer items. Seems to be the trend these days, with the more common memorabilia performing just average.
I'll speak to the area I know best... Pennants. Crazy high prices on the rare/early ones last night. Red Sox embroidered pennant went for $19,200... http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=42528 Rare early Phillies Pennant went for $10,200... http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=42480 Oversized A's Vertical Ringmaster Pennant went for $8,400... http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=42459 Oversized Embroidered Phillies Pennant went for $7,200... http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=42524 Beautiful 3/4 size Giants/A's WS Pennant went for $7,200... http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=42505 Smaller 1912 Embroidered Red Sox Pennant went for $7,200... http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=42500 And this incredible NY Giants Oversized Pennant went for $6K.... http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=42473 The mid-tier pennants performed pretty much as expected. I thought it was a strong auction overall. There were a few more unsold lots than usual, but the premium stuff really took off. I considered myself fortunate (and very happy) to win the piece I wanted most... http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=43254 I was outbid on everything else. Great auction from REA! |
Mark - thanks for capturing all the pennant action in one place.
And big congrats on getting that statue. I only noticed it last night during bidding and I really liked it. Good eye - as usual. Congrats again. |
I got skunked on a Pirates signed team ball with Clemente on the sweet spot. This was the first time I ever bid with REA. Unfortunately I did my max bid incorrectly and didn't realize it until I was outbid and too late. Ball sold for exactly what my max bid would have been if I knew what I was doing or paid better attention. Oh well. Most of the fun is the hunt. Onto the next auction!

FANTASTIC figural addition at a GREAT price Mark.
The pennant market is clearly alive and well and memorabilia in general is strengthening IMO. |
Awesome piece Mark!

Awesome pickups, Michael...
Great stuff... that's a very rare double trophy. I've only seen one other in many years of collecting. And it was the more typical silver plate. Nice score! |
My sole win

Love the images on these........

Thanks guys for the kind words. Sure can't beat an auction invoice with $00.00 shipping charge either! Thanks REA for the FREE shipping. Correct me if I am wrong but I dony believe another auction house does that.
|
BST Auctions has free shipping. I appreciate it.
|
The free shipping is tremendous because you don't have to try and figure out what that will be in the cost and how much more the auction company will want to make off you on shipping. Its just the item and 20% and you know what your paying. I don't know if any other auction company does free shipping off hand and I'm signed up with about 20 of them or so. I believe Inside the Park Collectibles auction does no buyers premium which is great to. Maybe with all the competition out there with the auction companies more should have things like that. IT'S a win win for them because more people will go to there auction. With Leland's ,Goldin's and REA all this weekend I concentrated more on REA because of the free shipping. Every little bit helps.
|
Agree... the free shipping is such a nice benefit (which really sets them apart).
Many thanks to the great folks at REA! |

Picked up the cigar box lot. I'm not sure about the coffee tin, but figured I'd take a closer look at it when it arrives. Has anyone ever seen one before?

Hartland Mantle Lamp
Hi Gang:
I won my fourth different Hartland Mantle lamp. bid.robertedwardauctions.com/bids/bidplace?itemid=42681 This one mysteriously had the NY on his jersey blotted out. Looks like someone took a fork and pulled it down the mold to disfigure the NY. Strange because I doubt when this was issued that MLB was as vigilant on unlicensed merchandise as they are now. But it goes up on my shelf with my others. Like this with the NY on his chest, like this with NY on chest without crossed bats and ball on the shade, and the round base version. I am always looking for Hartland items. Please PM if you have any of the below or know anyone who does.
