BST bay #1 - Phase 3 - SOLD

Something new for all you Ebay lovers is offered.

Here's how it works. A card or cards will be offered as a lot, in this case Lot #1.
There will be a required minimum bid that will be disclosed in the listing.

The initial portion of the auction will essentially be a sealed bid auction.
That means that no bids will be placed in this thread. Only bids placed by PM will be valid and they will function as MAX bids. After this phase of the auction is over at a designated time, the current highest bid will be revealed. Like eBay this bid will be $1.00 more than the second highest bid. For example if sealed bids of $35, $40, $45 and $50 are received, the leading bid at the end of this phase of the auction would be $46. There will be only one bidder higher than the listed price, so his identity should be evident to him (her) and need not be revealed, but he is free to rebid in the second portion of the auction.

The second portion of the auction will then commence for a limited time that will allow underbidders an opportunity to increase their initial bid, whole dollar intervals only. For purposes of transparency these secondary bids will be made in this thread. Any existing MAX bid will not be revealed, but will still be valid. This means that if you want the card and are not available for the second portion of the bidding, you can still win if your initial MAX bid is high enough. In the example above if the second phase of the auction raises the bid to $48, then the original $50 MAX bidder would still win at $49.

All auctions will include Free Shipping unless otherwise listed. All bids are to be made in whole dollar amounts. I will periodically update the post with the number of bids that have been placed. Duplicate high bidders will be notified only if their bid equals the existing high bid. Remember bids in the initial phase are placed by PM only. Bids in the secondary phase are placed in the auction thread only.

I reserve the right to clarify any rules questions in this post prior to the end of the auction. If this works, there will be a BST bay #2. If it doesn't, so be it.:(

The first listing will be

Lot #1 : T206 Harry Arndt

Condition : BVG 3

I am happy with the structure of this auction, but would like to add a mid-course addition. I realize that some of you would like to post your bid on the thread, so let's do both.

A PM bid will still be treated as a MAX bid. If one of these bids prevail, the winner will pay only one dollar more than the second place bidder.

If you choose to bid in the thread, what you bid is what you pay (no one dollar more rule). Obviously if a bid is posted in the thread, any subsequent bid must top it by a dollar or more.

Before the second phase of the auction, I will disclose the current price, which could be $1 more than the highest posted bid, but I will not reveal the highest MAX bid.

As the second phase proceeds, I will try to keep the auction's value current.

Carry on.

Irv,

That was a ploy to get you to bump the thread. Everyone knows Saturday is the 29th. Thank you for your cooperation.

Remember too that local pick up is available if you wish to avoid free shipping.
