Hi..new to forum and site. Would appreciate any feedback I can get on my latest purchase. Didn't buy this online but instead from a local flea market.
I did as much research as I could that day after I spotted it for sale. I feel like I have a real cracker jack...but you experts may tell me otherwise.

Thanks gents for your input ahead of time. I only invested $75 so I won't be too crushed either way.

I think a lot of old authentic vintage that pops up at flea markets/antique shows has a higher likelihood of being original owner...usually out of scrapbooks from the period...great get!

Looks good to me too. I am surprised that I am the first to ask this: relative to the front, is the back upside down or right side up?

You can tell it's a 1915 by the bottom paragraph. (176 pictures)

its upside down...I did read about that and should have kept it that way when I posted image...my mistake

I know everyone asks this ? but should I send it in for grading? Do you trust these grading companies enough that they wouldn't swap out your card for one of lesser value? Yea I know paranoia. Input would be appreciated.

LOL. I had the same concerns/paranoia when I first joined the site looking for info on grading but was put at ease when I was told the risk the grading co's would be taking with their reputation if they even thought about doing that.

Take lots of pics/scans, note the imperfections of your card first to help ease your mind, then submit. Lots of big $$$ cards get sent in everyday likely so keep that in mind as well.

They wont swap out cards, they deal with millions of dollars in cards and I have never heard of them doing that.

To answer your question, its up to you. You will probably get more if its graded, but in the end its about buying the card. You will have to shipping both ways plus the fee ($17 at psa) and wait for the card to return prior to selling. I don't like graded cards and do buy raw so us dinosaurs still exists. It comes down to what you want to do and how quickly you want to do it.

Despite the tremendous eye appeal, it could come back as low as PSA 3(ST) or as high as a straight PSA 4.5 (I see two corner bends, with awesome centering). I would say if you want to extract maximum value out of the sale, you're best off sending it in for grading either to PSA or SGC. If you could get 2.5-3 money for it raw, you're probably best off making the sale. If you want to go for the big bucks once, you could send it in and hope for the best. If it scores low, then crack it out and sell it raw or leave in case and still try for a 3 value based on eye appeal.

My biggest concern, aside from the current CDN/U.S exchange rate, is shipping from up here and having them get lost in the mail.

I know many have without issue, but if there's one thing for me to be paranoid about, this is it.

If I lived State side it wouldn't be a problem, or if the cards I planned on sending in weren't so valuable, both monetarily and sentimental, then I'd likely give it a try.

My wife and I will likely take a vacation (we have discussed this) and take them with us and have them graded while down there.
