Question on t206 years
I have seen T206s in holders where some will reflect 1909, some 1910, and others 1911. And I mean the same card, like a Cobb "piedmont Bat Off" with differing years. Were they released in different years or is this just grading companies differing? If released in different years, how can you tell the difference?

In post #6 in this thread Tim provided a chart on the estimated timeline
for the print groups. http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...99#post1080099 You can find a list of all the subjects from each print group here. http://t206resource.com/Checklist%20Main.html There's a lot of great info on this site they also give an estimated timeline of the series and backs starting with this page. http://t206resource.com/Series%20150.html |
Will do. Thanks Pat.

I missed Tim's 2013 post.
I agree with Tim for the most part, except I think (1) the 6 superprints were likely released contemporaneously with the 350-only subjects (circa March 1910) and (2) the 48 southern leaguers should be split into two distinct print groups: (i) 150/350 (34 subjects, available with Brown Hindu, released mid-1909) and (ii) 350-only (14 subjects, not available with Brown Hindu, released in early 1910). Also, just as the print run of the 14 350-only southern leaguers started later, it also ended later (as evidenced by these 14 being extant in larger quantities with Piedmont 350 than the other 34). |

Scot has done a tremendous amount of re-search that he has been kind enough to share. I printed a copy of his inside T206 several year ago that I keep at my desk. Attachment 248075 Attachment 248076 I highly recommend it for any T206 collector. |
